Boy’s Dresser Update

Hi there! How was your weekend?  We went clam hunting again and my husband made an amazing clam chowder yesterday.  It took about 6 hrs to prep and cook.  Totally worth it. I think! 😉  Next time I will try to get pictures and might post the recipe.  It’s awfully cute watching my husband in the kitchen all day!dresser-pinterest-feature

Boy’s Dresser Update

Last week my son and I updated his dresser with two tone color and hand painted knobs.  It only took an afternoon and we love how it turned out.  It was a lot of fun having a helper!

Here is the before.boys-room4

Just a black, cape-cod style dresser that we bought almost nine years ago. We removed the drawers and hardware and then my son sanded the drawer faces.

We used a high gloss deep blue color that was left over from my bedside table makeover.  It took about four light coats.  We let some of the black show through to create an aged appearance.

Here is the finished dresser.dresser-painted (1)We love the rich combination of deep blue, black, and gold and I have to give credit to my husband who’s idea it was to just paint the drawer fronts blue.  Nice.  Another free project completed. :)

What do you do with left over paint?
