Hi friends! We survived our third typhoon without any damage. Whew!
Today I’m sharing our finished Kitchen Cabinet Makeover in our rental home! If you missed it last week, you can see how I covered the cabinet doors HERE.
To finish up the kitchen, I used a dark walnut contact paper four inch roll (from the 100 Yen store) to cover the toe-kick.
The seams disappeared beautifully and it will be a cinch to remove when we leave.
Doesn’t it look good? In our almost all white kitchen, it grounds the space nicely.
I replaced the plastic cabinet pulls with DIY Copper Pulls. Here’s what the originals looked like (the first two pics). I’ll put them back on before we move.
The metal pulls came from the 100 Yen section in our hardware store so they were only about 80 cents a pop! I spray painted two coats of copper paint and one coat of polyurethane letting each coat dry 24 hrs.
Painting Tip: Keep the screws in the pulls and stick them into styrofoam. Now you can spray paint both sides at the same time!
The copper ties in with our copper pots and other kitchen accents.
So here’s a before shot…
With the cabinets covered…
And now with the new toe-kick and copper pulls.
A “new” kitchen to enjoy for the next two and half years we are here!

Alright y’all, I’m off for more island adventures. Have a great day!
