Crafts and Tea Birthday Party

Hi there!  I’m excited to share with you pictures from my daughter’s 6th birthday party.  It’s the first birthday party we’ve done since she turned one.   Our son’s and daughter’s birthdays are two weeks apart so we usually just take them somewhere special like Disney or Colonial Williamsburg.   I have to say though, I loved every minute of the Crafts and Tea Birthday Party!  Get ready for a lot of prettiness. party-pinterestSONY DSC

Party tip:  Set up different stations to keep activities organized.

Here’s the dessert table and juice bar.  The paper flowers, chalkboard, plates, cups, napkins, and carafes are all from the 100 Yen store.  SONY DSC SONY DSC

This is the first cake I have made in a couple of years so I was little nervous.  It was lemon cake with strawberry icing and it turned out amazing.   SONY DSC SONY DSC

Party tip:  Use decor accessories like trays, candle pillars, and statues to jazz up your party vignettes.  No need to purchase party decorations!

The cute cupcakes, tea cookies, and scones were from our local bakery.  SONY DSC

For the tea table, I needed seating for 8.  So I bought an inexpensive folding table and decorated it with items I already had. It was layered with a blue tablecloth, lace table runner, copper cups for miniature bouquets (from the grocery store and yard), and a white marble horse head (my latest decor find!).  SONY DSC

I had an extra paper lantern from my floral lantern project (you can find HERE) and searched through my sewing box for any trim to hang from it. SONY DSC

The tea pots were under $3 a pop and the tea cups came from a thrift store at around 80 cents per set.  SONY DSC SONY DSC

Party tip:  Use pretty stemware to hold snacks.

I placed the crafts on our sofa table ready to go.  After tea, I had the girls make jewelry and color their own puzzles.

We did a little ballet and I played frozen for them on the piano while they all sang.  Loudly.  It was fun! SONY DSC

My daughter enjoyed opening her presents.  Her friends gave the perfect gifts.

I’d say it was a success.  Toothy grin and all! SONY DSC

  1. Beautiful party! Where did you find the cute little white bowls that you used for the jewelry making supplies? Thank you.
