Christmas Table Blog Hop

Create an eclectic and feminine Christmas table with supplies from the dollar store and these decorating tips. Part of a holiday table blog hop.

Happy holidays friends!  If you are coming from The Happy Housie, welcome.  When Aniko from Place of My Taste asked me to join with some of our other friends in a Christmas Table Blog Hop I was delighted to accept!  Make sure you start at Blue I Style and go through the list of blogs participating.  They are amazingly gorgeous and creative!  SONY DSC SONY DSC

This is our first Christmas in Okinawa so I had fun decorating our kitchen table for the holidays in our little rental.SONY DSCI found some pretty Japanese place mats that are layered on top of chevron place mats and a taupe tablecloth.   The dinner napkins are from West Elm.  This is the first time I have tried layering place mats and I’m tickled pink with the outcome!  SONY DSC

I’m exciting to announce that after many months of searching, I finally found gold bamboo silverware (and the right price) on ebay and this is it’s debut!  The brass napkins were a thrift store find.

I used some “dollar store” greenery for our centerpiece with candles and a few ornaments to tie in the tree.SONY DSC

My fur pillows that I made with recycled clothes (you can find them HERE) cozy up our white kitchen. SONY DSC

Bamboo ware is everywhere out here so I snatched a few salad plates this week.   They were the perfect way to break up the formality of the place setting.

  1. This set up is just perfect! I love how you used some Japanese placemats to add an element of where you are to your mix and I’m pretty much thinking how cool it is that you get the opportunity to live in Japan!!! How fun to carry out your traditions among so many new ones! Have a wonderful Christmas and it is fun to e-meet you and do this hop together!

    1. Thanks so much Corey! We were just talking about our first Christmas in a foreign country. It’s really fun to see how a different culture celebrates and I’m enjoying the Japanese shopping experience although it’s a bit challenging sometimes. lol Merry Christmas!

  2. So many great ideas! I love the layering of the placemats and the bow look you created with the napkins. I also love your centerpiece. Such a beautiful and creative table!
